Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the learning system of National Competency Standards (NCS)-based learning in the beauty department, which focuses on practical education, and to examine the effects of the learning system on job competency and the curriculum in order to provide effective NCS education information and academic data.

Methods: The data collected through questionnaires for 211 beauty department students in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0.

Results: The results showed that the NCS learning system had significant effects on job competency, and the learning system had significant effects on the curriculum. Therefore, the learning system is an important variable affecting job competency and curriculum.

Conclusion: The following are the implications of this study. First, the fear of employment should be eliminated and field learning should be naturally linked to employment. Second, to enhance the effectiveness of NCS-based curriculum management, it is necessary to differentiate the curriculum, which requires practice rather than a theoretical curriculum.
